KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Planning • Lead, develop, implement and oversee a policy framework for robust and effective asset management across the Trust across partner Trusts such as KCH and the Brompton & Harefield, and within the ICS. • Lead on the strategic planning of the healthcare estate related to capacity and demand projections within a five-year horizon and beyond, making a major contribution to corporate policies and strategy. • Develop and regularly review the Trust’s estate strategy to align with the clinical strategy, in conjunction with the Estate Development Director and the Design and Development Director. • Provide strategic leadership for services included within Asset Management, across the Trust and external partner organisations to ensure the delivery of a relevant, high quality and cost effective service. Provide effective, expert advice, overcoming barriers to understanding and acceptance. • Develop and lead processes to ensure the production of an effective Trust-wide business plan for Asset Management, as part of the Essentia business planning process, in line with Trust and Essentia policies and priorities, set challenging targets for service performance and development, and ensure its effective delivery. • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior internal and external partners, including the local community and other stakeholders, to achieve positive results including through collaborative working and developing joint strategic ventures and partnerships where appropriate. This involves the provision of expert specialist professional advice, including the analysis, synthesis, interpretation and communication of complex data, and where barriers to understanding and acceptance exist. Lead on complex and challenging negotiations on behalf of the Trust. • Oversee the entire Trust’s property holdings including the legal and administrative aspects of the Trust’s property portfolio, acquisitions and disposals, planning and related matters, local authority and community liaison, regeneration and external partnerships; and manage the allocation and use of Trust space within the property envelope. This includes formulating and adjusting plans and strategies in anticipation of complex environmental and political changes, and acting for and representing the Trust in legal disputes attending court as necessary. • Regularly undertake and manage research activity including complex surveys and regular audits in relation to asset and property management. Report to the Board on the outputs of such research.
