The new camp life and reformation which begins immediately after a grant of Testaments is distributed among the troops is indicated by the following testimony: ‘We have a canteen which formerly sold nothing but beer at a great profit ; now we have a coffee bar which has almost wiped out the sale of beer altogether. Profanity and gambling are no longer the thing in this camp.’ --------O-------- Frank Parkes, Auckland, N. Z .: “T he K ing ’ s B usiness is a magazine which should have the widest possible circula tion throughout the world. I am thankful that ever my attention was called to it. I enclose a year’s subscription for myself and also for my friend Pearson, 'and a balance to be applied to the work of the Institute, which I should .greatly like to visit.” --------0-------- H. Ellis Lininger, Congregational Pas tor, Ogallala, Neb.: “I have been reading T he K ing ’ s B usiness for a little over a year now, and consider it one of the best magazines I can get. It is worth more to me than many high-priced magazines. I remark of nearly every issue, ‘this is the best yet.’ ”

l y r RS. BESSE D. McANLIS, correspond- •*- mg secretary of the Pocket Testa ment League, with headquarters in New York, thus writes of its origin and use fulness : “Probably no other agency is being so used of God among the soldiers of Europe as the Pocket Testament League. Through its instrumentality hundreds of thousands of men at the front have definitely accepted Christ. As a movement, it was officially launched about eight years ago by Dr. J. Wilbur Chapman and Charles M. Alex ander, at a conference of evangelists in Philadelphia. It has for its aim the strengthening of Christians and the win ning of the unsaved to Christ, by spread ing God’s Word. The method is simple. Its origin proves this; for it was started years ago by Mrs. Alexander, now wife of the evangelist, when a young girl in Birmingham, England. There are no dues, constitution nor by-laws, but just the sign ing of a pledge to carry a Testament or Bible constantly and read at least a chapter each day. “The League is rapidly spreading into all parts of the world, and over three million members are now enrolled. When the guns of the belligerent nations of Europe began their dreadful booming the League simul taneously began a quieter, very different work, offering light, hope and life from the Word of God. Small khaki-bound Testa ments of pocket size, weighing but two and one-half ounces, were immediately prepared and an appeal sent forth to the public to supply them to the fighting forces. In a truly wonderful way the Lord’s people responded, and are still responding with a liberality which permits the League to carry on the work. From the London office, in less than one year, 340,000 Testaments; 230,000 Gospels and 180,000 booklets were sent to various fields. All these were
