Representative up nicely, and from forty to fifty persons are present each week. Some good work has also been done during the past month by these friends, in getting subscribers to T he . K ing ’ s B usiness , and, taking all things into consideration, the work in this section is progressing nicely. An increasing interest is being mani fested by the young people, and it is our earnest prayer that numbers of them may decide to come to the Bible Institute. The information that the writer had conducted classes in the California peni tentiaries brought a very insistent invita tion to visit the County Jail. The first visit called for another and still another, and we find the work here as profitable as the work which we carried on at San Quentin and Folsom, although here it is more along personal lines. The president of the board of directors at Mpnroe Peni tentiary has recently given an invitation to conduct a weekly Bible class there, which is being considered, and We are waiting on the Lord about the matter. The need is great, and the character of men at the reformatory is different from that of those in the penitentiary, as these men are all first offenders and therefore more respon sive. If we decide to take up the work a class will be organized for Saturday afternoons. With the ten or more classes each week; with an increasing number of personal interviews at the study; with the supply calls, the , executive work and the many other things that go'to make up the work each week, we feel greatly the need of fellowship in, prayer. Will you remember us daily at the “Throne of Love Gifts,” through Jesus Christ, our precious Lord?

A T Seattle the Institute Auxiliary is doing splendid work; the l interest is growing each week and the response to the classes is very definite and encouraging. Last month’s report, stated that from forty to fifty responded regularly to the Institute work, and the number has not been less this-month, but has grown somewhat. With the national political situation and the “wet” and “dry” fight that have taken much time and strength, the fact that the Bible Institute work has not diminished is remarkable indeed. We look for a much stronger response during the rest-of the year, and it is earnestly desired that the people shall get a vision of the importance of Bible knowledge, through the many classes that are being taught each week. Another opportunity has been offered to us in the city of Tacoma", in a recent invita tion from Dr. C. W. Weyer, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of that place. He has asked that a Bible-study class be held with his people on Thursday even ings, whiph is in the- down-town section. The work has already begun, with an attendance of about 100 people the first night, and a prospect that it will increase to ISO or more before we are through. We are giving a chapter outline of Romans, as a foundation for the work which we are hoping to build up there. The class that we have had on Roosevelt Heights, Tacoma, principally with the Methodist people and held in the Vincent Methodist Church, is still growing in interest if not in numbers. We are hoping to keep this class work going throughout the year. Constant missionary effort on the part of the Misses Howes is keeping the interest '
