John’s Gospel Is to Be Studied During th e F irst and Second Q uarters We suggest the following books as especially helpful in this study: Exposition of th e Gospel of St. John By W illiam Kelly,- The book contains Mr. Kelly’s own translation ^of the Greek text together with the exposition. It is said of Mr. Kelly th at he had the happiness' to be outside the ranks of those who have “to do the best they can for the side on which they are retained.” He was a man of robust religious belief, and seriously and consistently did battle for the Faith of the Gospel. This book is edited, with additions, by E. E. Whitfield, whose notes are in logical development of Mr. Kelly’s views. The name of the author is sufficient guarantee for the spiritual teaching of this book.
