As the largest health care provider in a 38-county region, UT Health San Antonio logs 2.6 million patient visits per year. UT Health Physicians, the medical practice of the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, provides care in more than 120 specialties and subspecialties to South Texas and beyond. With more than two dozen locations throughout San Antonio and South Texas, we make it easy for patients to find a location that is most convenient for their needs. Our laser focus on critical areas of research and care includes important work at UT Health San Antonio’s Sam and Ann Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies, the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases, Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute, the Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center, and the world’s largest research group focused on combat-related PTSD and related conditions, amongst others. Two New Locations Coming in 2024: We’re Hiring, Come Help Us Grow While we have needs for physicians in many subspecialties across our network of facilities, we’re very excited to announce two new additions to the clinical footprint. In fact, you can be one of the first to work in these high- tech facilities coming in 2024. UT Health Outpatient and Surgery Center at Kyle Seale Parkway (early 2024): This 108,000-square foot outpatient and surgery center will be dedicated to delivering primary, specialty and ambulatory surgical care to South Texans. UT Health Multispecialty and Research Hospital (late 2024): Fueled by our commitment to excellence and discovery, this 144-bed, patient-centered hospital will deliver a singular healing advantage for the people of South Texas, ushering in a game-changing, fundamental shift to proactive, personalized medicine.

San Antonio is a picturesque city with a relaxed atmosphere that offers an affordable housing market with a growing economy. With no state income tax in Texas and the cost of living comparatively low, the city has a low unemployment rate with annual job growth of 3%. Despite its rapid expansion, traffic in San Antonio is modest compared to other major cities in Texas.
Out and About in Our Neighborhood The Alamo In its 300 years, the Alamo has shaped the city of San Antonio, ignited the battle for Texas independence, and influenced American history. Visitors will learn about the heroes and events that have made the Alamo’s story captivating for generations of Texans. Stop by the Alamo Church and the Alamo Exhibit at the Ralston Family Collections Center, where you can explore exhibits and artifacts from the Phil Collins Collection, the Donald and Louise Yena Spanish Colonial Collection, and more. El Mercado Time for some shopping. San Antonio is home to El Mercado Historic Market Square, the largest Mexican market in the U.S. Frost Bank Center Frost Bank Center (formerly AT&T Center and SBC Center) is a multipurpose indoor arena on the east side of San Antonio. It is the home of the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The arena seats 18,418 for basketball, and 19,000 for concerts or gatherings, and contains 2,018 club seats and 50 luxury suites.

Josephine Theater From anime to The Nutcracker, soaring symphonies to lilting flamenco, the Josephine Theatre hosts the Candlelight Concerts series. The non-profit community theatre is the venue for its lush scores while its stage is surrounded by gently flickering candles, adding an intimate feel. Whether you’re celebrating the holidays or just in the mood for some music, it’s an excellent option! The San Antonio Museum of Art Delving deeper into the history of Texas is easy at this must-see exhibit with representations of more than 5,000 years of culture. The museum houses a comprehensive collection of artifacts from the ancient Mediterranean world, as well as art from the Americas, Europe and Asia. SAMA is renowned for having the most comprehensive ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian art collection in the southern United States. The Nelson A. Rockefeller Latin American art wing spans the ages, from the ancient Americas to the present, and includes a collection of popular art. In the contemporary galleries, works of internationally recognized artists share prominence with notable Texas and regional art. The comprehensive Asian art wing displays works from Korea, India and Japan and includes an important Chinese ceramics collection.
Big Shoes to Fill The Alamo City holds another Guinness World Record as the home to the tallest cowboy boots sculpture, which is located outside the city’s North Star Mall, 10 miles from downtown San Antonio. At 35 feet tall, 33 feet long and 9 feet wide, they weigh more than 10,000 pounds

San Antonio River Walk Whether you choose to stroll through the wonders of this family-friendly locale or ride along in a river shuttle or on a river cruise, you’ll find something for everyone in this popular venue along the San Antonio River. Open year-round, the River Walk is home to restaurants and shops and hosts various annual events. Don’t miss out on the superb views on the River Walk and cruise or find solace under the tree-lined pathways. San Antonio Zoo Say hello to creatures both big and small at the San Antonio Zoo. Through its passion and expertise in animal care, conservation and education, the San Antonio Zoo’s mission is to inspire its community to love, engage with, act for and protect animals and the places they live. The zoo welcomes more than a million visitors each year and is open year-round.
