Water Testing Volunteers Needed We’re looking for residents to volunteer their homes to test for lead in the municipality’s drinking water system. Tests take five minutes plus a little preparation time and use less than 50 litres of water. If you can help, please contact the municipal office to arrange an appointment at publicworks@middlesexcentre.ca or 519-666-0190 ext. 5263. Returning volunteers are welcomed! “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!” Did you know that having working smoke alarms reduces the risk of dying in a home fire by more than half? As we head into Fire Prevention Week, October 6 to 12, 2024, Middlesex Centre firefighters want to make sure smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms are working for you: • Install alarms outside each separate sleeping area and on each level of your home. • Make sure alarms meet the needs of all family members, including those with sensory or physical disabilities. • Test your alarms at least once a month by pushing the test button. • Replace your alarms when they are 10 years old.
