Al says of worship and work: “I prefer to have my quiet time in the early morning—but it isn’t always possible. In hot, humid Malaysia, I work best in the eve ning and night when it’s cooler. I can do manual labor any time.” Al’s favorite hymn is “Amazing Grace” and his life verse is “Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you” (John 20:21). People ask Al how they can know God’s will for their lives. They are anxious about the place where God might send them. He advises: “Give yourself to God as Romans 12 :1, 2 tells you. God will take care of the geography. Look at this problem through the words in Proverbs 3:5, 6. It’s true: Get involved with and for God. There is nothing like it.” His enthusiasm is catching! While home on furlough, the Lord fulfilled a dream for Al and Doris. A little red-haired baby boy be came a part of the Mace family by adoption. “Stevie has become spe cial to us by just being himself and becoming ours,” they declare. L. Gordon Cooper, one of the orig inal seven astronauts, is Doris’s cousin. While on furlough, the Maces studied at Talbot Theological Seminary to strengthen their abilities in the Christian Educa tion field. Al, Doris, and Stevie left America, August 24, 1967 to return to Malaysia for another term of Christian service. Their ship, the S.S. L im b u r g rode through typhoon Ruth safely. It is believed a British freighter sank in this storm. They will be busy conducting and assisting teacher-training conferences and establishing a visual - aids and textbooks library for the Sunday Schools. National Christians are concerned to share the job of get ting out the Gospel. Introducing people to Christ is Al‘s c h ie f joy . He testifies: “Faithful witnessing is the key to getting the Gospel to every per son in this generation,” and he proves it by doing it. HE
