NEW YEAR, NEW SKILLS LCC Community Education classes launch this January on our new Modern Campus website Submitted by: Karen Torres, Career and Technical Education/Workforce Development Director As we look toward the start of a new year, Luna Community College (LCC) is thrilled to announce the official launch of our Non-Credit and Community Education classes starting in January! This initiative is more than just a series of courses; it is a significant investment in the personal growth, health, and skill-building of our entire community. A Comprehensive Approach to Growth Our offerings are a proud pillar of the broader LCC Workforce Development department. We take an integrated approach to regional growth, providing essential programs designed to drive our local economy, safety, and personal enrichment: • Community Education: Ignite a new hobby or master a craft with enrichment courses like Sewing, Quilting, Beekeeping, and supportive Fitness classes. • Professional Certification Training: High-impact programs like CDL and Heavy Equipment operation for immediate career entry. • Wildfire Resiliency Training Center: Critical training for protecting our landscapes and communities through fire mitigation and land stewardship. • College and Career Readiness Institute (CCRI): Providing foundational Adult Education and Literacy to bridge the gap to higher learning or better employment. • Youth Programs: Engaging the next generation through initiatives like the Rough Rider Mentorship afterschool programs and summer STEAHM camps. Something for Everyone Whether you are looking to launch a high-paying career behind the wheel of a commercial truck, prepare for wildfire season with specialized resiliency training, or simply master the Fundamentals of Sewing, there is something in the catalog for you. From youth looking for mentorship to adults seeking a career pivot or a creative outlet, our programs are designed to be accessible, low-pressure, and high-reward. The best part? Our catalog is growing every day. As we expand our offerings across all these sectors, we encourage you to visit luna.augusoft.net frequently to see the latest additions and secure your spot.
