2021 Report to Our Community

Other fundraising events included a virtual Bow Wow Walk and two outdoor events. The 26th annual Concours d ’Elegance was held on the lawn of The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, as planned and, thanks to the event’s attendees, $25,000 was raised in support of our mission. The other outdoor event, Suds and Shreds, was hosted by the Foundation’s Teen Advisory Board and raised $1,060. Regretfully, St. Augustine’s signature fundraiser for our mission was canceled, but plans for the event are underway.

The success of these events funds our community programs in service

In 2021, the Foundation found innovative ways to recreate some of our annual events to raise funds for our community programs. In addition to the Community PēdsCare events, the Foundation team created a virtual Tree of Life and Candlelight Service of Remembrance event to honor the patients and families. The event honored the memory of loved ones lost in a beautiful, inspiring program of music, verse, and reflection. The Hadlow Campus was illuminated with lights representing each patient served by Community Hospice since 1979. The People Who Engage.

to our mission of compassion.

The inaugural Bow Wow Walk 2021, presented by Pet Paradise, was a month-long walk/marathon challenge that benefited the Community Hospice & Palliative Care pet programs. With the goal of helping patients with advanced illness keep their pets at home, the pet assistance program helps elderly hospice patients continue to enjoy the companionship of the animals they love. The annual Suds-n-Shred fundraiser provided secure, on-site shredding of personal documents, and Teen Advisory Board members washed cars for donations.
