of The Crossings at Jefferson Park from Vision Real Estate Partners and Rubenstein Partners to Barclays Capital. How do you contribute to your company and / or the industry? Since join- ing Cushman & Wakefield, I earned a seat on the Rising Leadership Council (“RLC”) for Cushman &Wakefield – 25 of the foremost Young Leaders at C&W globally. The RLC provided the CEO and CEO of Americas for Cushman & Wakefield with many of the company’s most important initiatives and policies, which impact the company’s strate- gic direction. I also served on the firm’s New Jersey Advi- sory Council. Who or what has been the strongest influence in your career? My parents have been the most influential role models in my life. Both coming from humble begin- nings, it was evident that my parents had an exceptional work ethic. My father was raised in a small coal mining town in Northern Pennsylva- nia where he received a schol- arship through the U.S. Navy to attend Penn State Univer- sity. He arrived on campus with only $5.00 in his pocket. My mother grew up simply as well. She was a schoolteacher and helped support my father during his time in the service. My parents instilled values in me from such an early age which has shaped me for who I am and why I want to make an impact in other’s lives. My mother’s passing at a young age has also given me perspec- tive on living life to the fullest. Tell us how and when you began your career in the profession you are in, about your current posi- tion and why you choose the field/profession you are in today? People would be surprised to learn that I started my career as a union electrician for the Interna- tional Brotherhood of Elec- trical Workers Local 102 in Parsippany, New Jersey. It was a great resource for me because it helped me gain first-hand knowledge and ex- pertise of construction and the real estate industry. It’s also been a proven key differentia- tor for clients as an additional resource in achieving their desired results. After several continued on page 36D
