Fencing - Beginner Instructor: Fred Sims

Pottery for Kids Instructor: Andrea Serafino Children love to get their hands in clay! Students will learn the basic hand-building techniques of pinching, coiling, slab-building and sculpting. Clay painting and glazing will also be taught. All material and firing costs are included in the class fee. This course will teach the basics of foil fencing. Easy to learn, the sport teaches courage, quick thinking and perseverance. The course is taught by Fred Sims a certified fencing instructor by the United States Fencing Coaches Association. All fencers will be required to wear masks during class. All equipment will be furnished by Mr. Sims. A $25 equipment fee, payable by check will be due the first class. Parents are encouraged to stay and observe the class. Class limit is 10 students. Fencing - Advanced Instructor: Fred Sims

All teenagers love to get their hands into clay! Students will practice wheel-throwing, hand- building, decorating and glazing techniques while working with clay in this exploratory class. Ages: 12-18 years | Session Length: 5 Weeks Location: Beachwood Ceramic Guild 23366 Commerce Park Circle, Suite 105W

This class is for fencers who have taken the beginner class three times with one year’s experience and who wish to compete in local tournaments. Fencers may also choose a second weapon type and use electric scoring equipment. Equipment will be furnished by Mr. Sims but fencers will be encouraged to buy own equipment. The equipment rental fee is $25 payable at first class. Class limit is 10 students. Beginner In-Line & Roller Skating Instructor: CVRR Staff Come and learn to skate like the pros. The course includes five lessons and the sixth class allows students a chance to show family and friends what they’ve learned in a fun-time skate. Students can use in-line or roller skates or rent them free of charge from the rink. The students will be taught the following: starting, stopping, gliding, striding, squatting, marching, scissors and crosses. Grades: K-5 | Session Length: 6 Weeks

Girls on the Run Instructor: Cheryl Scharf

Girls on the Run is a confidence-building journey that helps girls realize their inner and outer strengths. Girls participate in physical activities, group conversation, journaling and lots of fun! Meeting twice a week for 8 weeks, the season culminates in a non-competitive celebratory 5k where the girls learn that big things can happen if you keep moving forward.
