SYNTERO PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES THROUGH PREVENTION SERVICES AND INCREASED RESOURCE OFFERINGS

As the pandemic continues to impact every aspect of our lives, young people need additional support to help sort through the unknowns and manage their feelings. Syntero’s School-Based Prevention program provides support in the areas of both mental health and substance use-related needs for students in grades K-12, and also helps educate parents and caregivers about how to support children and adolescents during this difficult time. School-Based Prevention services are grant- funded and are of NO COST to families or the school district. The School-Based Prevention program is beneficial to all students as a foundation for optimal social-emotional development and strengthens resiliency and coping skills, decreases disruptive behaviors and increases classroom success. The program offers: • Strategic skill-building individual and/or group opportunities intended to prevent or reduce the risk of developing a mental health or substance use disorder. • Use of non-diagnostic screening tools to better identify areas of growth for each unique student. • Parent workshops — Syntero’s licensed clinicians guide parents through a variety of topics ranging from cyber safety to dating abuse. This list of services is not exhaustive so if you have any further questions or requests, feel free to share your concerns or requests with Syntero School-Based Coordinator for Dublin City Schools Melissa Rotblatt, LISW-S, at mrotblatt@syntero.org. Student Wellness Groups Additionally, Syntero regularly offers Student Wellness Groups for Dublin students, as well as the 11 other school districts the organization serves. Workshop topics range from managing anxiety to college readiness and can help students foster healthy, adaptive coping skills to manage life stressors more effectively.
