UPM Raflatac Antti Jääskeläinen has been ap- pointed Executive Vice President re- sponsible for UPM Raflatac. He will become a member of UPM's Group Executive Team and will be based in Helsinki, Finland.
Antti Jääskeläinen is currently re- sponsible for UPM Raflatac's EMEIA business (Europe, Middle-East, India and Africa) as Senior Vice President. He has been in his current role and UPM since 2014. Flexo Concepts Completes Doctor Blade Innovation Lab Flexo Concepts has completed a new doctor blade innovation lab in its Plymouth, Massachusetts, manu- facturing facility. The innovation lab contains a variety of testing and measuring equipment used to assess the various me- chanical properties of materials being considered for new product development. These tests include stiff- ness, wear, surface roughness and creep, the charac- ter istic that descr ibes how polymer mater ial “relaxes” over time when pushed against a hard sur- face like an anilox roll. The lab also houses a special machine to prepare samples for testing as well as high-precision optical and weighing devices to per- form used blade analysis. By analyzing worn blades, Flexo Concepts can help customers determine the causes of their metering problems such as too much or little doctor blade pressure or when a doctor blade has been installed at an incorrect angle.
