Conclusion:

1. Increasing the number of faculty on campus will make CWU more student centered and increase retention and graduation. 2. There is a lack of diversity among faculty and CWU. 3. There is a lack of social integration for faculty of color at CWU 4. Faculty of color experience a “brown tax” 5. There are myths around increasing faculty diversity Solutions: 1. Provide support to academic departments to recruit faculty of color at their respective disciplinary conferences. 2. Provide monthly social network opportunities for faculty of color for retention purposes. 3. There is a need to encourage faculty to review the tenure and promotion process to ensure issues of equity are addressed. 4. Timely hiring plans that include the goal of academic excellence 5. Review of job descriptions, requirements, and rubrics 6. Review and modification of search committees 7. Search committee training which includes: myths and biases
