Et les refontes de la berline sport Maxima et de la camionnette pleine grandeur Titan XD vont relancer à coup sûr la carrière de ces deux modèles. Les formes futuristes de la Maxima s’inspirent du récent Murano; les deux modèles établissent de nouvelles normes stylistiques. La nouvel- le Maxima est plus basse de 3,3 cm et plus longue de 5,5 cm que la génération précédente. Elle est également plus légère et la rigidité en torsion a été considérablement accrue. Le moteur V6 de 3,5 litres est plus puissant (300 chevaux) qu’auparavant et comprend plus de 60 % de nouvelles pièces. La transmission est une nouvelle boîte Xtronic (CVT) axée sur la performance. La Maxima est également équipée pour la première fois d’un sélec- teur de mode de conduite (sport et normal) qui ajuste la réponse de l’accélération, de la direction et de la transmission, ainsi que d’un système actif d’amélioration du bruit qui amplifie le bruit du moteur dans l’habitacle pour une ambiance plus sportive (au choix). Un moteur diesel Les amateurs de camionnettes pleine grandeur seront heureux d’apprendre que le nouveau Titan XD 2016 peut être équipé d’un V8 turbo-diesel de marque Cummins. D’une cylindrée de 5,0 litres, ce moteur développe 310 chevaux et 555 livres-pieds de couple. La capacité de remorquage est de 5443 kg. La gamme Titan comprend trois configurations de cabines, deux longueurs de châssis, deux autres moteurs (V6 et V8 à essence) et cinq degrés de finition.
