us in John 16:7-14. He is honored when we glorify Jesus Christ and seek to win others to the Saviour. Too often the Holy Spirit is magnified out of all proportion. This would not be pleasing to Him. He is blasphemed when we fail to accept or to recognize Jesus Christ for what He is, namely the eternal, infinite Son of God, the Second Person of the Trinity, the One who was born of a virgin, the One who came to do mighty miracles on the earth, and to redeem man from the penalty of sin. .If one repudiates this, or any part of it, in effect he is mak ing the Holy Spirit a liar, which is blasphemy. Q . Sandy, Oregon — “Could you please explain Genesis 9:5?” A. This portion tells of the Lord’s covenant with Noah, after he had come out of the ark. As you read the forceful statement you will see how much importance God places on man’s life. Blood stands for the life princi ple. The Lord does not view the shed ding of man’s blood lightly for there is a sacredness to human life. It is sad to see governments doing away with capital punishment. This law of God has never been abrogated. The life of man is so important that if an animal takes it, the Lord will require recompence. When one man strikes at another he is actually hitting at the

This is the meaning in the parable when the king came in seeing a man having not on a wedding garment. Salvation is likened to a robe be stowed graciously upon us to cover our spiritual nakedness. The man who wasn’t properly garbed didn’t have a single thing to answer as to how he got in. He was bound and bidden to be cast into outer darkness. Remem ber, there is a general call which goes out. Some receive the message while others reject it. Although they may make a profession there is no actual possession of eternal life. Take heed and be warned ahead of time. Receive the message of this blessed parable clearly indicating that your only hope for eternity is to receive by faith the robes of Christ’s imputed righteous ness as you say, “Nothing in my hand I bring; simply to Thy cross I cling.” Q . Sunnyside, Wash — “Is Christ’s com ing first as a thief in the night, or wiU everyone see Him?” A. We would refer you to I Thessa- ionians 5:1 for this passage, although there are others in the gospels. The Church, made up of all true born- again believers, is looking for the Rapture, not the coming of the Lord in judgment when He visibly appears to the world. The former event may happen at any moment. Some may not be as aware of the Lord’s coming as they should be. They may not be look ing for Him as earnestly as Scripture exhorts us to do. Yet, nowhere in the New Testament is this coming of the Lord indicated as “a thief in the night." In the aforementioned passage and following verses, however, the un saved world will be unprepared. It is in this regard that Christ’s coming visibly to the earth will catch men “off guard.” Q . Seattle, Wash. — “How can one hon or the Holy Spirit? Also, how does one blaspheme the Spirit?” A'. To honor the Holy Spirit we need to understand His ministry which, in this age or dispensation is defined for
