spend a week together to celebrate Doug Melson ’s 50th birthday in Punta Mita, Mexico. Life is good in Los Angeles, California, for Jared Goetz , who started his own company two years ago, Ascending Media Group, making television shows and movies. In addition to his own projects, he works with Kevin Hart, Millennium Media, Chicken Soup for the Soul, and others, helping them create and distribute content. Tony DeFronzo , Chris Chernock , and Jared went helicopter skiing in Revelstoke, Canada, to celebrate another 50th birthday. Though the weather kept the helicopter grounded, they skied old-school, and it was great. Jared Goetz has a son who is a freshman at Middlebury College and one who is waiting to hear where he will attend next fall. John Pfannenbecker is practicing law in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, and exploring other entrepreneurial opportunities. He has been enjoying the unique culture, people, and lifestyle on the island. He has met some folks with Hopkins connections, also. On the progeny front, his daughter, Isabella, studies nursing at

Fairfield University, and his other daughter, Viviana, is the Freshman Class President at Amity High School. If you are looking to escape to the sand and sun, give him a call, mon! Paul Canalori has been living in Woodbridge, Connecticut, for the last 12 years, after having moved back from Boston, Massachusetts. His eldest child starts college at Princeton University (Class of ’27) following a gap year with the Novogratz Bridge Year Program in Bolivia. His middle child is a junior at Amity High School and the youngest is a middle schooler at Amity Middle School. He spends a lot of time in San Francisco, California, working as an engineering manager for a software company. He enjoyed running into both Christin Knowlton and Mike Lipcan at a swim meet in Branford, Connecticut, this fall. They’re both doing well. In an epic battle worthy of the Lifetime Channel, Paul Canalori and Brock Dubin squared off as opposing coaches for their daughters’ teams on the softball field this past summer. As for

Party when possible: fun has no shelf life! Karl Schmidt ’s wife, Marlene, gave him and his daughter, Karleigh, tickets to see Iron Maiden for his 50th. Karleigh loves ’80s old school heavy metal, just like her dad. Kate Stanton reports that she will celebrate her 50th in January in Montreal, Canada, with some dear friends and family, skiing, spa-ing, and wining and dining. Katie Applewhite Caspar turned 50 in Ireland with her family: her husband, Phil, Cannon (19), Joey (16), and Kennedy (14). Matt Martino writes that he, along with Marc Friedman , Tony DeFronzo , Jared Goetz , and Morgan Fine , were lucky enough to
