’01 Hopkins family gathered in the Napa Valley with our spouses and kids. There were 13 of us (23 adults with spouses) and 18 kids all under the age of 8 (see picture)! We had a tremendous long weekend catching up, drinking wine, playing pickleball, and chasing around the next generation Hopkins crew. It was amazing to watch all of our children play together and become friends.” Also in the Golden State, Andrew Lebov writes that he and his wife recently had a baby (Gus; see picture). He works for YouTube, where he helped to create YouTube’s brand sonic and animation (https://blog.youtube/inside- youtube/building-the-new-youtube-sound- one-note-at-a-time/), and is also directing animation for the YouTube Doodle Program. Kate Bogart is living in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband, Matt, and their daughter, Maya, and son, Santi. By some incredible coincidence, her kids attend the same preschool as our ’01 classmates Dan Wolf and Blake Shaw ! Sam Vinograd was recently honored as a Hopkins Alumna Fellow. During her day back on campus, she spoke to the morning school assembly (remember those?) and engaged with students and faculty. She currently works at the Department of ABOVE: 13 members of the Class of 2001 reunited last summer in Napa. Thanks to everyone who shared news— keep the updates coming! 2002 Aaron Zelinsky Aaron.Zelinsky@gmail.com 2003 20th Reunion, June 2–3, 2023 Courtney Hart courtneyleigh.hart@gmail.com Arielle Traub arielle.traub@gmail.com Class of 2003, it’s wild to believe, but our 20-year reunion is this June! More on that at the end of this column, but first, what our classmates have been up to… Andrew Soberman separated from the Navy in late May of 2022 and embarked on a summer road trip throughout the Pacific Northwest. He was living the dream in a teardrop trailer and shared that Glacier National Park and the Canadian Rockies were the best parts of his travels. He just finished up a NOLS Wilderness EMT course in Wyoming and is now based in Denver, Colorado, shredding the slopes. Cam Cross is practicing primary care internal medicine at Leaf Medical in DUMBO, in Brooklyn, New York, and his wife, Rebecca Giusti, practices family medicine for Correctional Health on Rikers Island. Earlier this year, Zerennadi Umeugo and

his wife, Nia Homachi Umeugo, welcomed their sweet baby. Congrats, Zerennadi, Nia, and big sister! Aaron Silidker says that his business, RoamRig, “has a mind of its own,” and he wouldn’t be mad if someone hit him up to run the show so he can get back to his great loves (tinkering/R&D). He had lunch with Greg Jaffe , Emily Asen , and Ali Lieberman in August and caught up with Jared Gargano when they were on the same coast. He also adopted his dog, Homer, from Emily Stagg . Emily Corwin concluded a second fellowship at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard earlier this year, wrapping up nine months of investigative reporting with a story published by ProPublica. Emily’s stellar piece reveals how a tax credit that was meant to subsidize permanent employment is instead providing hundreds of millions of dollars each year to the temporary staffing industry. Be sure to check it out by going to ProPublica’s website and searching “tax credit” and “marginalized workers.” From your class secretaries: Arielle Traub is still working for Manatt and doing the beautiful juggle with her three kids. She says that life is very full but also sweet. Courtney Hart finished up nursing school and is buckling in for a wild ride, starting on nights in the Emergency Department in New York City. Back to reunion: Aaron points out that current seniors weren’t even born until we were partially through college. Ouch. Our 20th Reunion is the weekend of June 2–3 and we hope to see many of you there! Additionally, Hopkins is looking for folks to be part of the reunion committee.
