Sustainable procurement
In FY18, we spent around $1.6 billion across 1,700 external suppliers in our day-to-day operations and major construction projects. To co-create greater social and sustainability benefits through our procurement activities, we are working closely with these key suppliers, as well as with like-minded industry partners and non-government organisations. Our sustainable procurement approach is now informed by the International Guidance Standard on Sustainable Procurement (ISO 20400: 2017) and also anticipates the introduction of Australia’s first Modern Slavery Act.
