Notice You must provide at least five days’ advance notice of the conference or meeting and make a reasonable effort to schedule it as an electronic conference or meeting. Compensation You will not be compensated by the Company for attending or traveling to and from the conference or meeting. Documentation You must provide documentation confirming that you attended the conference or meeting, which you must request from the school. Documentation should be submitted to your manager or Human Resources as soon as possible after returning from the conference or meeting. Exceptions The Company may take an adverse employment action against you due to your missing work to attend a conference or meeting described above if: You attend more than one attendance conference or more than one case conference committee meeting in a calendar year (i.e., one of each type is permitted without adverse action); The absence is longer than reasonably necessary to attend and travel to and from the conference or meeting; or You fail to provide at least five days’ notice. Employment Protections for Mobile Support Unit Members If you are a member of a mobile support unit, CREA, LLC will not discriminate against, discipline, or discharge you for: Your membership in a mobile support unit; or Missing work to attend training, participate in an exercise, or respond to a disaster, public health emergency, public safety emergency, or other event that requires emergency action. If you have been selected to serve in a mobile support unit, notify the Company of your membership as soon as possible. Employment Protections for Civil Air Patrol Members If you are a member of the Civil Air Patrol, CREA, LLC will not discipline you for: Being absent from work due to responding to an emergency service operation that began before you were scheduled to report to work; or Leaving work with permission from your manager to respond to an emergency service operation that began after you reported to work. To be eligible for these protections, you must notify the Company in writing that you are a member of the Civil Air Patrol. The Company may reject the notification on the grounds that you are an essential employee. If your notification is rejected, you: Must promptly notify the commander or other officer in charge of the Civil Air Patrol of the rejection of your notification; and Will not be entitled the protections provided above.
