Eligibility To be eligible for leave, you must: Have been employed by the Company for at least 12 months; Have worked for the Company for at least 1,250 hours during the 12-month period immediately preceding the leave; and Be trained to participate in a funeral honors detail at the funeral of a veteran and be either: A retired or active member of the U.S. Armed Forces or a member of a reserve component of the U.S. Armed Forces, including the Illinois National Guard; or An authorized provider, or a registered member of a nonprofit or other organization that is an authorized provider, including a member of a veterans service organization. Notice and Certification You must provide reasonable notice of your need for leave as soon as practical. The Company may request a confirmation from the relevant veterans service organization that dispatched you to the funeral honors detail, or any official notice provided to you in relation to the funeral honors detail, that can be used as proof of your participation in the detail.
