Participants will learn to lead rescuer certification workshops and administer standardized assessments to certify others. Fri, Sept. 18 | 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM Canine Abdominal Ultrasound Afternoon Lab Repeat of the morning lab: Hands- on ultrasound lab designed for veterinarians with rotation through 12 stations. Focus on abdominal ultrasound skills with scanning time on live dogs. Sat, Sept. 19 | 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM Dental Extraction Techniques Participants will refine their extraction skills using a step-by-step description including gingival flaps and alveolar bone removal. The primary focus will be on canine extractions, with some feline specimens available for practice. Sat, Sept. 19 | 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Technician Advanced Skills Lab A four-hour cadaver-based lab to gain experience in the placement of urinary catheters, advanced IV catheters, and nasoesophageal feeding tubes. Includes lecture time to discuss indications and complications, followed by practice with experienced veterinary technician specialists. Sat, Sept. 19 | 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM RECOVER Rescuer Certification Workshop (BLS & ALS) Workshop to teach evidence-based Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) concepts and techniques. Cases will be presented to discuss updates and treatments for diseases such as hypoadrenocorticism and diabetes. Sat, Sept. 19 | 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Clinical Ophthalmology Interactive master class designed to elevate ophthalmic clinical and diagnostic skills through case-based learning. Common diseases of the cornea, adnexa and lens will be explored, along with refining the interpretation of retinal exams. Sat, Sept. 19 | 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM Transaction Trifecta: Strategy, Marketing, & KPIs Helps answer declining client transactions by aligning strategy, marketing, and KPIs into one cohesive system. Small groups with hands-on scanning time on live dogs to build confidence and competence in core ultrasound techniques. Fri, Sept. 18 | 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Canine Joint Injection Lab Hands-on lab to practice the techniques covered in the joint injection for canine osteoarthritis lecture. Key approaches include the coxofemoral, stifle, shoulder and elbow joints. If time permits, the tarsus, carpus and digits will also be practiced.

SAN ANTONIO ZOO CE TOUR This visit to San Antonio Zoo’s Animal Health Center will start with a welcome at the newly renovated Fiesta Entrance featuring a unique gorilla statue marking the return of gorillas to San Antonio after more than 30 years! Attendees will walk behind the scenes up to the Animal Health Center for the start of the tour. At the Animal Health Center, attendees will divide into groups for a guided tour of the facility. The tour will include the treatment room, surgery room, lab, pharmacy, and hospital quarantine/diet prep areas. During each rotation, veterinary team members will discuss the work they do in that area. These sessions go in-depth into preventative care plans, including physical examinations, medication protocols, and the types of diagnostics utilized. The team will also discuss unique husbandry challenges, animal training programs, and enrichment strategies used to support the overall health and well-being of zoo animals. After the tour, attendees will have an opportunity to explore the park and visit Congo Falls, the zoo’s newest habitat, to meet the gorillas.

SeaWorld CE Tour

SeaWorld guides will meet the attendees at the entrance and then split into groups; the tour includes a visit to major exhibits in the park and a brief lecture by Sr. Vet at SeaWorld; the shuttle departs from the Convention Center at 12:45 PM; the tour is approximately 3 hours; shuttle returns around 5:00 PM.
