2018 2nd Quarter Crime Report

Facebook Live Events On June 16, members of the Public Relations Office visited the West 7th entertainment area and worked with the patrol officers assigned to the area to live stream activity. The live stream consisted of interviews with citizens, officers, and the discussion of various calls. This interactive environment provided the opportunity to explain various laws and parking issues. The response was overwhelmingly positive. As a result, citizens and officers have inquired about additional details. The Public Relations Office is planning to schedule similar live streams in different areas of Fort Worth. On June 27, an Ask the Chief forum was held and streamed live to Fort Worth Police social media followers. It included Chief Joel Fitzgerald and Command Staff. Dur- ing the forum, the Chief answered questions live on Face- book. The purpose was to provide another option for the community to interact with the FWPD.

CommuniVersity Brunch On June 7, Chief Joel Fitzgerald and members of the Command Staff attended the CommuniVersity Brunch held at Mt. Rose Baptist Church. The CommuniVersity Brunch is an open discussion and working lunch with presentations and discussions by community leaders fo- cused on resolving conflicts within the community. Issues discussed included housing, education, policing, and employment.

Community Movie Nights The Fort Worth Police Department hosted two Communi- ty Movie Nights; the Diamond Hill Community movie event occurred on April 27 with a showing of Black Panther , and the Eastside Community movie event on May 4 with a showing of Coco . Each event included pop- corn, games, and family activities.
