are no simple answers, but the following are a few suggestions designed to improve the relation ship and understanding. 1. Acquaint yourself with the missionary. It would be an excel lent idea for churches to keep a file for each missionary family. This file could include all back correspondence, a prayer card or recent picture, and perhaps a list of clothing sizes and/or specific needed materials for the work. It could then be made easily acces sible to anyone wishing to write this p a r t i cu la r family. This would avert the strange feeling missionaries experience when a letter arrives addressed to “Mr. & Mrs. Missionary and sons” al though they are the parents of two little girls. Even more upset ting is the case of the well-mean ing sender of Christmas gifts who forgets whether the children are girls or boys, or if it is the boy who is 10 and the girl who is 3 or is it vice-versa? 2. Read any recent correspond ence, including prayer letters, be fore writing to a missionary. He will be very pleased if you ask concerning a specific individual or situation that has been men tioned in previous letters and about which you have been pray ing. If there is no recent cor respondence, then the fault lies with the missionary and you have the right to ask anything you wish. 3. Unless you are personally well-acquainted with the mission ary, do not fill your letter with in formation about your own fam ily. The names, ages, and school grades of .your children in chro nological order; the family medi cal history ; or Aunt Sarah’s prob lems with Uncle Fred’s drinking are not of particular in terest or help to the missionary. 4. Those on a foreign field are often ignorant of what is going on in some of your churches. The weekly bulletin or monthly news letter are appreciated enclosures. Better still is a personal view of some incident or event. This

HOW CAN THE JEWknow CHRIST STIMULUS A Jewish man heard the witness from an A. M. F. Missionary in Florida. Patiently, with an open Bible the worker focused upon the need for peace in the human heart. Then pointing out some of the 333 prophecies about the Messiah, which were fulfilled in Jesus, he turned to Isaiah 53. RESPONSE The Jewish man read of the one who was “wounded for our transgressions” . . . and by whose stripes "we are healed." Amazed that this was not the New Testament, but his own Jewish prophet Isaiah, his preju dice was overcome. He found his own condition portrayed. Best of all he found the One upon whom the iniquity of all was laid. 365 days of the year by personal contact, by tracts, and by radio, A. M. F. missionar ies are reaching Jewish people with the message of salvation. Archie A. MacKinney, Director AMERICAN MESSIANIC FELLOWSHIP 7448 N. Damen Ave., Chicago 45, III.
