GREAT STORIES WANTED ABOUT RUSSELL TOWNSHIP GREGG CHAMBERLAIN gregg.chamberlain@eap.on.ca for promoting itself and attracting new investment.

at tradeshows or during one-on-one meet- ings between township staff and potential investors. “We’re super excited about this project,”

said Tremblay, “and we want people involved because it’s their vision of what they want for the community, to showcase what’s important to them.”

Tremblay noted that the open house will be like a workshop situation for partici- pants but one that is designed to be more informal and also encourage residents of all ages, from children to seniors, to participate. “It’s going to be a fun workshop,” she said. “Kids can come in and draw pictures, something that they think represents the township. We want families, we want inves- tors, we want everybody involved.” Results of the community profile public workshop/open house will become part of 25- to 30-page document for an in-depth profile of Russell Township, highlighting features of interest to potential future residents and investors. The document will become part of the resource references on the township’s website, and be available

What makes Russell Township a great place to live? That’s the question staff at the municipal office would like residents to help answer during a March 8 invitational open house on the community profile. “We want to know what attracts people to live in the township,” said Dominique Tremblay, township director for economic de- velopment, planning and buildings. “”What attracts them to stay in the township and also invest in the township.” The economic development department hosts an open house event March 8, 7 to 9 p.m., at the municipal office. The goal of the workshop is to develop a community profile as part of the township’s strategy

Qu’est-ce qui fait de la Municipalité de Russell un endroit où il fait bon vivre? C’est la question que le personnel du bureau municipal aimerait que les résidents aident à répondre lors d’une réunion sur invitation du 8 mars au bureau municipal. —photo d’archives
