3P innovation is honoured and proud to receive its second Queen’s Award in consecutive years. This year’s International Trade award follows on froma 2020 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation. Founded in 2006, 3P innovation is an employee owned, Midlands-based, high-tech engineering and custom automation company. The firmworks collaboratively with global pharmaceutical and medical device businesses to help develop their new products, devices and production processes. It has expertise in the automation and filling equipment associated with inhalers, auto-injectors, depots, novel devices and aseptic fill-finish machinery. Since moving into its new premises in December 2018, the company’s workforce has expanded by 40% and turnover has increased by 100% due to increasingly larger automation projects for its international customer base. Future-proof engineering expertise 3P is a recognised leader in precision powder dispensing. The industry ‘s ‘gold standard’ is now 3P’s patented Fill2Weight technology, which was recognised with a Queen’s Award in 2020. This innovative technology has seen the company win multiple multi-million-pound orders globally and

has contributed to its steady growth in international markets. With a team of highly trained engineers, the company offers highly versatile and scalable solutions to its global client base. 3P also ensures it stays at the forefront of the latest trends in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and cell and gene industries by making significant investment in training, R&D and new product development (NPD).

3P’s founder and Managing Director, Tom Bailey, also commented on the company’s success: “In a year that has been challenging for everyone, the team at 3P innovation have worked harder than ever to achieve remarkable international growth. This has provided us with further security and stability in an ever-changing market affected by Covid, and it’s great to see that UK innovation and international growth within the manufacturing sector are being recognised by the Queen’s Awards.” These Queen’s Awards build upon last year’s success for 3P shortly after launching a national visor initiative, which saw the manufacturer donate over 40,000 visors to frontline healthcare workers. Sustainability at its core As part of a strong sustainability strategy, 3P’s purpose-built facility inWarwick was designed to reduce the company’s carbon emissions and environmental footprint. The building is equipped with LED lighting, low-carbon heating and using renewable energy from solar panels. This SME is also committed to help its customers become greener through the design and build of energy-efficient machinery. Recognising exporting success Being recognised with these Queen’s Awards has led to an increase in exports for this UK manufacturing company. The exporting strategy implemented by this SME has led to the penetration of newmarkets and a more diversified portfolio of clients, with 40% of new customers between 2017 and 2020 being international. West Midlands Mayor, Andy Street, recently commented on this success: “As Mayor of theWest Midlands, I am delighted to see that 3P innovation has been recognised with the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement.
