the sand inlay. It’s a clean aesthetic that allows the sand or earth element to be the star.” “I love collaborating with strong, creative women,” Holly said. Two of those latest collaborations involve a travel-inspired line with television host and supermodel Camille Kostek— with airplanes, passports, moonstones, and more making their way into the Dune Jewelry cosmos—and an adventure-inspired line with rising pop star Nicole Michelle. Naturally, Holly focused her gaze on the gorgeous beaches of the East End. “The Hamptons is such an idyllic location that this was a very natural collaboration,” she said of the Hamptons Rope Collection partnership formed with Ann Liguori—a sports radio and TV broadcaster whose show “Sports Innerview” runs on WLIW-FM along with other National Public Radio affliates. An expert in golf, Ann was quick to note that it was possible to get a piece of Dune Jewelry with sand from your favorite golf courses as well. “It’s such a meaningful gift,” she said. “I’ve adored collaborating with Holly on this line.” Additionally, Holly has created an exclusive Sandbank which holds over 4500 sands and elements gathered from iconic and memorable locations around the globe that customers can select from for their custom jewelry. “Our Sandbank is a pretty amazing sight,” Holly acknowledged. In the beginning, the Massachusetts native would take short road trips and collect sand around New England, “but over the years our customers started reaching out and asking if they could send their own sand or earth elements. Of course, I said ‘yes,’ and now we have cataloged over 4500 elements from around the globe including sand, shells, flower petals, ballpark sand, golf trap sand, and more.”

When creating the pieces, only a small pinch of sand is used, so inevitably there is always leftovers. “We began contacting our customers asking if they wanted to donate to our Sandbank,” she continued. “The sentimental value of our Sandbank is extraordinary.” Any outside-the-box requests? “Oh yes!” she replied. “Most recently we have incorporated baby chihuahua teeth, cut-up passport clippings, lace from a wedding dress, and actual coal recovered from the Titanic! Memories come in many different forms.” On the personal front, Holly is proud to spearhead many fundraisers each year for non-profit organizations such as SMILE Mass, Joslin Diabetes Center and the Association to Preserve Cape Cod, APCC. In addition, Dune often donates a portion of their sales throughout the year to various charities such as the global relief organization, All Hands and Hearts, the Surfrider Foundation, and the P.A.W.S Project. Holly lives in Walpole, Massachusetts with her husband Eric, and their two daughters, Alexa and Lyla, and their rescue pup Earle. Her latest projects include a line of experiential candles and a book titled (naturally) “Happiness Comes In Waves.”
