Young people aged 12 to 18 and their
families are invited to drop by between 9
a.m. and 5 p.m. The event will be postponed
toMay 12 if theweather does not cooperate.
During the 15-minute “baptism,” groups
of up to seven peoplewill soar over Lachute
and fly to the Carillon Canal. The number
of plans participating will depend on the
number of volunteer pilots.

no road signs, and no police!”
For Vrana, the outing allows the
community to discover the local airport
and its importance to the economy of the
region. “The Lachute airport contributes a
lot to the community, but its resources are
little known to the public. There have been
large investments made over the last five
years and we house between 120 and 130
airplanes now,” he explains.
