The hymns selected by the audience were in order: “ The Old Rugged Cross,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” “In the Garden,” “ It is no Secret” and “ The Love of God.” Washington Figures With the ending of the Billy Graham Campaign the figures show a nightly av erage of attendance near the 10,000 mark which is remarkable because for ten days the regulations held the seat ing capacity to 5,300. The recorded de cisions stood at 6,244, a nightly average of 195 recorded decisions for Christ. Mexican Evangelism Approximately 50,000 people in Mex ico heard the Gospel last summer dur ing the evangelistic campaigns headed by Dr. Walter Manuel Montano. The month of May has been assigned as the starting month for the next evangelical campaign in Latin America. Prayer is needed to reach the 150,000,000 spiritu ally-starved people in that area. Steel for Chapel Prayer is given the credit for the allo cation of the necessary steel to construct a new chapel on the grounds of the Dallas Theological Seminary of Dallas, Texas. Already $80,000 is on hand of $110,000 necessary for this new chapel- office building on which construction has already begun. Christ for Everyone A new campaign to reach down into the smaller communities in a simultan eous movement for evangelism is being sponsored by the Christ for America Group. This campaign is being desig nated as Christ for Everyone and is scheduled for the month of October. Dr. Charles E. Fuller is Honorary Chair man. There are said to be more than 50,- 000 evangelical pastors in the United States who will co-operate. Much prayer is needed for the undergirding of this commendable effort. Flying School A Pan-American DC-4 has been chart ered and a selected.student group of 51, with four professors, will spend five weeks in the Near East visiting the his torical places of interest in Palestine and adjacent lands during July and August. Dr. J. A. Huffman, President of the Winona Lake School of Theology, will sponsor this flying school. Portable Services To meet the need of at least 30,000 communities which have no resident pastor and 10,000 communities without services of any kind, what is known as “ Portable Church Services” has come into being. The idea is to use high-fidel ity tape machines and send recorded services to play for the assembled con gregations. This idea originated with Dr. Donald Grey Barnhouse of the Tenth Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, Pa. Graham Resigns Evangelist Billy Graham has resigned as Chairman and member of the Board of Directors of Northwestern Schools. Dr. Graham says he feels it impossible to continue because of his tremendous evangelical campaigns, radio and televi sion programs.
