Ciena’s new 8190 router

Ciena has launched the 8190 Coherent Aggregation Router, offering 14.4 Tbps, 400G using high- capacity next-gen metro architecture. Ciena says it is the company’s most scalable router to date, enabling customers to build 36 ports of 400G in 2RU. It adds six times more bandwidth with no extra footprint to the 8100 family. The 8190 joins the three 2.4 Tbps coherent aggregation routers – the 8110, 8112, and 8114 which were brought to market over the last couple of years. While the 8190 offers nine times increase on the number of 400G coherent ports, some designs also need to balance capacity from 100 Gbps to 400 Gbps rates, so the device is compatible with Ciena’s WaveLogic™ 5 Nano 100G-400G coherent

70% improvement in power efficiency and 75% improvement in footprint compared to previous- generation products. In addition, as converged architectures require converged operations, the unit achieves IP/

pluggables, supporting 400ZR, 400ZR+ as well as enhanced performance modes for extended reach to address the full gamut of application requirements. Any-to-any 100/200/400G Metro and WAN Connectivity. The 8190 deliver as

and its design also enables testing 100G and 400G transceivers. The FTBx-88480’s GUI and support for multiple technologies enable field technicians to test different technologies, rates and interfaces using a single platform. EXFO says its Open Transceiver System (OTS) protects current investments in transceiver testing while

EXFO has launched the FTBx-88480, a dual-port tester for fibre-optic transmission rates from 1G to 400G. The device features a modular, upgradable design to extend operators’ CAPEX investments. It also features a cloud-based collaborative software platform that connects all parts of network test ecosystems in real time for optimised field testing, reporting, troubleshooting and more. The 1G to 400G dual-port capability of the FTBx-88480 allows field technicians to validate two circuits simultaneously for increased efficiency,

ensuring compatibility with future high-speed transceivers through a

unique system of swapable modules. With future-proof 112G electrical lanes, the FTBx-88480 is purpose-built for testing next-generation 100G-400G transceivers.
