Women’s Caucus Report By Ji-In Houck It’s been a busy time for the Women’s Caucus. Planning for the fifth annual Women’s Caucus (WC) Trial Skills Seminar at Convention is underway. Caucus leaders formed the Community Resource Committee. And at our last meeting, we heard a story that I’ve been thinking about ever since.

Catalina not only had the idea to provide legislators with simple Know Your Rights Guides but then executed by starting the Community Resource Committee. When we sent out a call for volunteers to create these guides, the Women’s Caucus stepped up in full force without hesitation. Because of Catalina’s initiative and leadership, we are now harnessing the knowledge and expertise of dozens of members to provide guides in areas such as domestic violence protection, sex abuse, housing rights, elder abuse, personal injury, workplace harassment, disaster recovery, insurance coverage, and whistleblower protections. We will share these guides with legislators so they can share them with their constituents. I applaud and thank Catalina for her efforts to create a well-informed citizenry.
WC Trial Skills Seminar at Annual Convention
On November 12, 2026, we will kick off Convention with the fifth annual Women’s Caucus Trial Skills Seminar. The planning committee (Education Chair Kim Levy, Secretary Catalina Rodas, member Sarah Havens, past Chair Kelly Hanker, and I) has some exciting things planned. Be sure to register for the Thursday seminar when registering for Convention. Space is limited, and it does sell out. You won’t want to miss hearing from these phenomenal women.
WC Member Spotlight: Christa Ramey

At the last Caucus meeting, we heard about a case and what came after it. I’ve been thinking about it ever since. CAOC Parliamentarian and past Women’s Caucus Chair Christa Ramey is a champion for women and girls both in her practice and out. Outside her law practice, Christa serves as a board member of Fund Her, the only political action committee dedicated to putting phenomenal women at the helm of local and state government, which was founded by CAOC Financial Secretary and past Chair Valerie McGinty.
