Breaking Barriers to Justice

harmed by institutional failures — from bullying and physical abuse to teacher grooming and sexual misconduct on campus. In one of Christa’s school bullying cases, her minor client told her that she wanted to proceed with the trial because, “This was my fight.” Christa and her team's trial victory was an impactful win in and of itself. But here is the part that stayed with me most: her client changed the course of her studies and decided she wanted to become a lawyer representing children. She recently graduated from the University of San Diego and now works as a law clerk at ACTS Law with Christa. Her experience going through the litigation, seeing how the civil justice system can work, is what inspired her to want to become a plaintiff’s attorney. That is a remarkable thing. The girl whose school ignored her pleas for help is now training to stand up for people like her. Christa has been a leader in this Caucus for years. I personally attribute my involvement in the Caucus and CAOC to her warm welcome. We’re proud to shine a spotlight on Christa Ramey for this edition!
