extensive amendment process these changes went through to get to the Board and will endorse the proposed revisions from the faculty.

• The Curriculum Committee has approved 394 curriculum proposals for new and revised courses and programs. Additionally, they continued work on development of a definition for “hyflex” courses that is inclusive of the various practices across the university. They conducted a survey of faculty who use the “hyflex” modality and have produced a report that will inform next steps for the committee next academic year. They have also been active in facilitating a broad faculty conversation related to reduced-credit and three-year degrees. They solicited faculty feedback late in Spring quarter. This summer the FSEC will be synthesizing that feedback so the Curriculum Committee can produce a report with recommendations for next steps early in Fall quarter. • The Evaluation and Assessment Committee facilitated collection of faculty feedback to contribute to administrators’ annual assessments. This year they collected confidential feedback about the Provost and the Dean of the College of Education and Professional Studies which was delivered to each administrator and their respective supervisors. They also conducted the annual assessments of Faculty Senate and FSEC, which we will use to inform changes to our processes in the next academic year. The committee also conducted a survey of faculty about student evaluations of instruction (SEOIs), which the FSEC will use to inform the committee’s charges for the next academic year. • The Academic Affairs Committee worked primarily this year on policies to address concerns that emerged from consultation between Faculty Senate and the Provost. These included policies related to (a) allowable excuses for student absences from class and (b) regular and substantive interaction in online classes. The former issue proved contentious and and will remain on the agenda for next year. For the latter, language was approved at the June 3 Senate meeting. The AAC also consulted with several other groups on issues including a Teaching CiHS graduate certificates, generative AI policy, course withdrawal policy, and 3-year degrees. • The General Education Committee continued their regular work of reviewing and approving changes to general education curriculum and petitions. In addition to their regular work, they collaborated closely with the General Education Cat Team in
