eliminated and “questions” changed to “decisions.” In the following sentence, “larger questions” was replaced with “extra- and inter-collegial budget decisions” and the reference to Code was updated to “Section II.C-D, ‘Areas Meriting Significant Faculty consultation’ and ‘Procedures for Faculty Consultation. b. Rationale : Changes within the list of abbreviations in the Preamble and to Faculty Code Section II.2.b are proposed so as to more accurately reflect the authorship and contents of the 1966 Statement on Government of Colleges and Universities . i. Changes to Appendix C include 1) Section I is labeled as definition, yet the original language did not contain a definition. This amendment adds a definition of college budget committees to this section of Appendix C. 2) Changes to Section IV.A specify when broader consultation is needed. These changes now indicate the areas of Code that should be referred to for broader faculty consultation. 6) Clerical changes outlined in Exhibit F a. Summary: The Bylaws and Faculty Code Committee is charged with reviewing the Faculty Code annually to identify clerical issues that need revision or updating. The committee approved the attached clerical changes unanimously. b. Rationale: These changes improve clarity and ensure accurate grammar and spelling. They also improve the formatting to ensure easy navigability and accessibility of the Code.
We recommend the following motion:
