This engagement aims to strengthen awareness of the sector and support a clear progression pathway for students entering the workforce. Northern Ireland’s manufacturing and galvanizing sectors, helping employers address current and future workforce needs. Following the success of the pilot, Riverpark Training is now inviting manufacturing and coatings companies to engage with the programme ahead of the September apprentice intake. Early engagement will ensure training provision aligns with employer requirements and supports planned recruitment within the sector.

Apprenticeship courses currently available include: • MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) • Light Vehicle Technician • Body Repair • Refinishing • Vehicle Parts • Industrial Coatings These programmes reflect the breadth of skills required in today’s modern workshops and offer a proven route for young people to gain industry-ready experience while allowing employers to develop talent aligned to their business needs. Garages and motor trade businesses with opportunities available, or those willing to take on an apprentice in any of the above areas, are encouraged to get in touch. Providing apprenticeship placements is not only an investment in individual careers, but a crucial step in securing the long-term future of the motor industry. Over the past year, Riverpark Training has been working closely with a targeted section of the engineering industry to develop and deliver Industrial Coatings training as part of a pilot scheme.
