Role Purpose and Respons Job Role : Senior M&E Engineer Salary: £43,415 to £60,027 Excellent Benefits Package including exceptional Pension and Annual Leave Entitlement You will report to the Head of Engineering Services Group within the Engineering Services Group which forms part of the Capital Projects Team led by the Director of Capital Projects and Estate Strategy. You will provide support to colleagues of Facilities, Residential and Commercial Services on all construction and maintenance related projects overseeing the procurement of projects being managed by the University’s approved consultants and contractors, within the value band of circa £25k to £120m. You will work closely with Facilities Residential and Commercial Services, Capital and Minor Works Project Managers and Mechanical/Electrical Consultants and Maintenance Surveyors to ensure projects are delivered to acceptable standards, within the agreed programme and within the approved budget allocation in a safe way following the Health and Safety policies of the University. You will also oversee or on an audit basis the maintenance works undertaken by the University’s Measured Term Contractor to ensure that agreed quality and technical standards are met. Assist Project Managers, Building and Quantity Surveyors with the commissioning and handover process to ensure that building facilities are fit for purpose when handed over to University departments and Facilities Residential and Commercial Services (FRCS). You will work to support the Head of Engineering Services Group in facilitating improved levels of integration between the relevant sections of FRCS by establishing agreed performance standards, project procedures, processes and methodologies related to the building engineering services and infrastructure. University Context: The FRCS team has a key role to play in maintaining and improving the buildings and engineering infrastructure of the University to support the academic and research departments, based in 300 buildings (500,000 m2) across the 255 ha site. The diverse Estate includes many listed buildings from Georgian and Victorian periods as well as contemporary buildings and conservation areas coupled with the complex research laboratories this provides many challenges in maintaining and servicing the estate. You will be employed within the Engineering Services Group of FRCS Capital Projects providing professional Mechanical & Electrical Engineering support to other building professionals both in Minor Projects and on Major Capital Projects.
