Cinq élèves du CSDCEO se démarquent!
par Denis Vaillancourt, vice-président de Club Richelieu de Rockland et ancien direc- teur de l’éducation et secrétaire au CSDCEO, cette compétition a rassemblé, à Rockland, 59 jeunes de 6 à 14 ans et leurs familles, ainsi que plusieurs bénévoles, autour de la théma- tique « Nous aimons la langue française ». Le concours est divisé en trois catégories :
cycle primaire (6 à 8 ans), cycle moyen (9 à 11 ans) et cycle intermédiaire (12 à 14 ans). À la suite de ce concours, les gagnants et les gagnantes se rendront au concours national qui aura lieu le 7 mai prochain, à Toronto. « Félicitations à tous les participantes et participants. Un concours d’épellationmet à l’épreuve les connaissances en orthographe,
mais demande aussi une très bonne gestion du stress découlant du fait de parler devant un public. Un merci spécial aux parents et au personnel enseignant qui ont appuyé les élèves dans ce projet », de dire François Turpin, directeur de l’éducation et secrétaire.

Drug information forums The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) and several other agencies have partnered to host a series of public information forums in the Five Counties region in May. Topic is drug use and abuse, with attention to the rising use of fentanyl and other «fad» drugs in major urban areas.The aim of the forums, «Fentanyl and Other Subs- tances : Awareness and Prevention», is to provide parents and young people with information on the risks of these new drug fads, and also about use and abuse of more common drugs and also alcohol. The forums are May 1 at the Glengarry District High School in Alexandria, May 4 at the Robert Hartley Complex in Hawkesbury, May 8 at St. Joseph High School in Cornwall, May 11 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School in Russell, May 16 at North Dundas District High School in Winchester, May 18 at Rockland District High School in Rockland, and May 31 at École secondaire de Casselman in Casselman. Animé Dans le cadre de la première édition du concours d’épellation en français, Épelle- Moi Canada 2017, organisé dans la région de Prescott-Russell, cinq élèves du Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est onta- rien (CSDCEO) se sont démarqués. Animé par Denis Vaillancourt, vice- président de Club Richelieu de Rockland et ancien directeur de l’éducation et secrétaire au CSDCEO, cette compétition a rassemblé, à Rockland, 59 jeunes de 6 à 14 ans et leurs familles, ainsi que plusieurs bénévoles, autour de la thématique « Nous aimons la langue française ».
