Timbers, les problèmes d’eau sur ce tronçon vont forcer la Ville à agir d’ici environ trois ans, et la séparation des égouts pluvial et sanitaire est nécessaire pour assurer une alimentation efficace qui rencontre les normes. « Côté protection incendie, ce n’est pas fort ces conduites-là, a rajouté le surinten- dant du Service de l’eau, Richard Guertin. Ce sont de vieilles, vieilles, vieilles conduites et les égouts pluvial et sanitaire se com- binent à la hauteur de Cameron, ce qui cause des problèmes pour l’environnement. Il y a aussi eu des problèmes de rouille, mais nous avons pris des actions et il n’y a pas eu de plaintes récentes. Nous faisons des analyses continuellement. »

Les travaux de réfection des conduites d’égouts et d’asphaltage de la rue Came- ron, entre Aberdeen et Main, ne seront pas effectués cette année car la Ville de Hawkesbury a récemment vu sa demande de subvention au Fonds ontarien pour l’infrastructure communautaire refusée par le gouvernement provincial. Ce tronçon de rue est problématique au niveau des conduites, car c’est à cet endroit que les égouts se combinent. Le projet en étant un de plusieurs millions de dollars, la Ville ne peut assumer la totalité des coûts sans un emprunt massif. « Nous avons été refusés cette année pour la subvention de 2 millions $, mais c’est un projet qui commence à presser, a indiqué le trésorier de la Ville, Philippe Timbers. Burglar moves a large haul The Russell County OPP is seeking help from the public in solving a home break-in in The Nation Municipality, in the middle of March, during which the thief drove off with a big haul. On March 17, just before 11 a.m., police received a call about a break-in at a residence at an undisclosed location in The Nation Municipality. The thief entered through a basement window and later drove off in a grey Dodge Caravan kept at the premises. Loaded inside the vehicle were a snow blower, two brown leather sofas, and several long guns. The Dodge Caravan was later found abandoned and burnt in Ottawa.
