start with the letter “C” and notice what it spells. “Christ.” The star of Bethlehem showed the wise men where to find Christ. In the center of the star is a red cross. It reminds us of the cross on which Christ, God’s greatest gift, died and shed His blood for the sins of the world. In thinking of gifts, let us never forget the greatest of all gifts, God’s gift of His Son. When we realize the greatness of God’s gift to us, we can better ap preciate that which is told us in Luke 2:13,14, “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and say ing, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Oct. 9, 1955 G row and S how OBJECTS: A triangle from yellow pa per, with eight-inch sides and a green paper triangle with six-inch sides. (Fold one point of the yellow triangle to the center of the opposite side. Fold each of the two other points in a like manner, making a smaller tri angle. Fold again, making a much smaller triangle. Follow the same procedure with the green triangle.) LESSON: I hold in my hand a triangle which reminds me of the Lord Jesus. Before I tell you just how it is like Christ, let me read Luke 2:52, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stat ure, and in favour with God and man.” This means that Jesus grew. We will unfold the triangle and see what happens. It is larger, but still a triangle. We will unfold it again. It is much larger, but still a triangle. We see from the Scripture and

from the triangle that the little Lord Jesus grew. We should never forget that God wants us to grow as well. In Ephesians 4:15,16, we are told, “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the ef fectual working in the measure, of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” We will now open this small green triangle. It grows and grows, but still remains a triangle. From the Scrip ture we read and from this triangle

OBJECTS: A large six-pointed silver star, made of silver paper. (Cut the letters C-H-R-I-S-T from the paper and paste one on each of the points of the star. In the middle of the star paste a red cross. Fold each point forward where it joins the body of the star. Stick the points together with transparent tape where they meet. When all points are folded and fastened together, the appearance will be that of a hexagonal pyramid. The letters and the cross will be on the inside. Tie with a silver ribbon to give the appearance of a gift pack age.) LESSON: Did you ever look at a gift package and try to figure out by its shape and size what it contained? Yes, I think we all have. Try to guess what this package has in it. Now I will untie the ribbons and show you what the package contains. “Just a silver star.”

we see that God wants us to grow as Christians. This leads us to ask, “In what ways does the Lord want us to grow?” Let us read Ephesians 4:31,32, “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, ten derhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Put the two triangles together, and you will see that there is a resem blance. If We grow in grace, we will grow like the Lord Jesus.

It is not merely a star. We must remember that the greatest gift God ever gave to the world was accom panied by a star. As we turn this star around, we see that there are letters on each of the points. We will
