Apprenticeship Employer Guide

Most Apprenticeships involve a combination of classroom taught sessions and work-based assessments to evidence skills in practice. As an employer, you are required to commit to 20% off-the-job training for both new Apprentices and existing staff starting an Apprenticeship to learn new skills. This requirement can be met by a number of different methods, including attending classroom taught

sessions, spending time shadowing different departments and higher level positions, conducting research and working on assignments and portfolio work. You will be involved in the shaping of the Apprenticeships for your business. For organisations that have a number of staff looking to upskill, HSDC will work with you to develop a bespoke Apprenticeship delivery model on your premises to meet your business needs.
