eye on what’s next. We have almost 1,000 FB presses in the field that we work every day to provide ser- vice for. But, at the same time, we are looking toward tomorrow’s technologies and how this will affect our customers, as well.” Advances in technology allow Nilpeter to not only train operators properly but to trouble shoot immedi- ately, too. Diagnostics can be run on the presses re- motely, from anywhere in the world, significantly reducing downtime.Training can also handled virtual- ly, and if an operator becomes mired in a particular problem, QR codes on the machine can be accessed to lead them to training videos. As the technology becomes more sophisticated, Nilpeter envisioned a machine mechanically that re- duced parts and aided in the focus to have a press known for its ease of operation. Each print station is cast from a single piece of steel, with seven motors mounted to each station. Teachout sums up the new press — and the up- graded facility — as such:“It’s the perfect marriage of steel and automation.” Avery Dennison RFID Partners With Target Avery Dennison has formed a global Radio Frequen- cy Identification (RFID) partnership agreement with Target Corporation, as part of Target’s deployment of RFID technology to more than 1,600 stores to help maximize inventory availability and deliver an en- hanced guest experience. Target is leveraging Avery Dennison’s broad UHF RFID portfolio for a variety of category and perfor- mance needs, including apparel and a number of home products. In addition, Avery Dennison RFID tags have been integrated with current trim prod- ucts to optimize the branding of the garments being tagged.
