Read Every Genre. Sharpen Every Skill.

Every issue of Storyworks brings together a variety of genres, from thrilling narrative nonfiction, to short informational texts, to compelling fiction. Students must practice and apply the reading and writing skills they are learning to each text, creating stronger, more well-rounded readers.

Fiction

Big Read: Narrative Nonfiction

Stories focus on social and life skills and address relevant issues such as friendships and school. With each grade, the text length increases. (Grade 1 pictured.)

Alike and Different/Paired Texts

Each article delves into an important and highly engaging topic, often connected to social studies and science curriculums. (Grade 2 pictured.)

Past to Present

Students in Grades 1 and 2 compare and contrast using the Alike and Different feature. In Grades 3 and 4–6, the Paired Texts feature offers two texts united by topic or theme. (Grade 1 and 4–6 pictured.)

These short nonfiction texts explore the history of student-friendly topics and grow in complexity across the grades. (Grade 3 pictured.)
