Keuruu Ecovillage is a politically and religiously neutral community with over 35 inhabitants and 53 hectares of land. It is situated near the small town of Keuruu in rural Finland. The aim of Keuruu Ecovillage is to promote an ecologically and socially sustainable lifestyle in all areas of life. The Ecovillage is mainly sustained by voluntary work, and several volunteers (national and international) work there during the year.

Description: Environment and practical steps towards a better and cleaner world were the main topics for this youth exchange, as chosen by the young participants. Participants from Portugal, Finland, Egypt and Cyprus met in Cyprus in summer 2020 and learned how to use resources sustainably, raised awareness of environmental issues and got their hands dirty doing some actual cleaning.

The first two activities of Erasmus Goes Greener were designed as a learning journey for 50 project managers from five countries who wanted to lean to implement sustainable and responsible projects. The plan was to have more Erasmus+ and Solidarity Corps projects that are eco-sensitive, more projects that address sustainability and nature protection, and to increase environmental literacy and advo- cacy in the Erasmus+ sectors.

Finnjamboree “Kajo”

Organisation: Keuruu Ecovillage (Finland)

Project: Finnish scout camp with international participation

Description: The activities will have two priorities: “internally” through the activities of the Ecov- illage, and the activities offered and promoted “outwards” through cooperation with other local partners in Keuruu (such as schools, local youth work organisations). The volunteers will promote the values and activities of the Ecovillage through their partnerships and networks, and in society in general. Typical tasks for volunteers are cooking vegetarian food, working in the garden, gathering wild plants (herbs, mushrooms, berries), general helping in the kitchen, and cleaning. Volunteers can help with planning, scheduling and implementing activities on a regular basis. The main themes are environment and climate change, intercultural/intergenerational educa- tion, agriculture, forestry, fisheries and (lifelong) learning.

Description: “Kajo” is the name of the eighth Finnjamboree which was organised by the Guides and Scouts of Finland on July 15-23, 2022. Approximately 15,000 Finnish and international guides and scouts aged 12 and up gathered at the Evo campsite. They could participate either as a participant or as an International Service Team member. The goals of Kajo were to
