Joining Rocky on his rounds at Rockland Public School are Grade 6 students Jo- nah Scott (left) and Kadeeja Egal. Watch for the launch of the annual Angel Tree project to help provide local children in need with real presents for Christmas. Rocky, the Rockland Public School mas- cot, has a shopping cart full of hope and healthy things to eat to help fill the shelves at the Rockland Food Bank. The grade 6 students at RPS have been making the rounds of the school with Rocky every morning for the past week as part of the school food drive project. As of the middle of the month they will deliver close to a dozen shopping bins full of food to the food bank. That will help kick off all the other food drives that community groups and local businesses are launching this month, culmi- nating in the Annual Guignolée Clarence- Rockland Christmas Food Hamper drive over the Dec. 1 weekend. Residents are reminded that non-perish- able food items are preferred for the food bank when guignolée arrive at the door. Other items needed at the food bank in- clude basic toiletries, diapers, and baby food.
