Falcons shift from gridiron to b-ball court
The Saint Francis Xavier Falcons varsity boys finished their latest season in the Sea- way League for high school football with a two-and-four win-loss record. Coach Scott Stoqua conceded the results this season were “disappointing” but noted that the team is still in the rebuilding process after losingmost of the squad’smost experienced
veterans to graduation the year before last. He added that this year’s rookie players and their more-seasoned counterparts from last year were holding their own against more experienced teams from other schools. “For most games we were in it for the first half,” he said. The Falcons will need a new tailback/line-
backer next fall as Geordie Edwards is get- ting scouted by several universities for their collegiate football programs. That includes the University of Toronto which already has ex-Falcon Chris McDonald on its lineup. The Falcons varsity boys basketball team squared off against the Devils of North Dundas in a Tuesday exhibition match.
