The Official OKC Visitors Guide 2023

Gabriel’s otherworldly sculptures take you to a wildly imaginative space. Look for his work and collaborations with Denise at such places as 21c Museum Hotel, Science Museum Oklahoma, and definitely pay a visit to the Trash Monster in the Scissortail Lower Park, you haven’t seen anything like it. FACES OF THE MODERN FRONTIER

Oklahoma City’s greatest asset has always been our people. Our resiliency, creativity and compassion are at the forefront of everything we do. It fuels our desire to create spaces that reflect our unique perspectives and stories. Artist duo Denise Duong and Gabriel Friedman are doing just that. Both traditionally trained and globally traveled, they are artists who enjoy expressing their inspiration in the unconventional. These partners in life and art are making their mark on the city by carving out visionary spaces that invite introspection and embrace community.

Much more than artists, Denise and Gabriel are placemakers, looking to leave their hometown a brighter, more magical place for everyone. Their transformative work, along with many others in OKC’s thriving art scene, has placed Oklahoma City on the map as a creative destination. You can find Denise’s iconic paintings not only at Little D Gallery in the Paseo Arts District, but literally all over town with mural work on water towers, parking garages, store fronts and alleyways.
