ff. Streetlights
Streetlights are reviewed and included as part of the approval process for site plans, preliminary major subdivision plats and, in some cases, minor subdivisions. (1) Request to the Public Works Department . Request for a streetlight shall be submitted to the Public Works Director who shall investigate the need for such streetlight. (2) Determination of Request . Upon completion of the investigation the public works director shall notify the applicant on the determination that a streetlight is warranted. If the warrant demonstrates that a streetlight is necessary, the public works director shall coordinate with the electric power company to install the streetlight. (3) Public Property . The Town of Fuquay-Varina shall only consider the need for a streetlight that is located on public property, including but not limited to public rights-of-way, parks, and other public property identified by the Town of Fuquay- Varina. Lighting for safety on private property is the sole responsibility of the property owner.
