Community Garden
A community garden may be fenced and may include an accessory building. Community gardens shall be interspersed within residential areas and may be placed within a block or included within parks and greens. There shall be no minimum or maximum size. Community gardens must conform to the community garden use regulations of the Town of Fuquay-Varina Land Development Ordinance.
Neighborhood Multipurpose Field
A neighborhood multipurpose field may be spatially defined by landscaping rather than building frontages. There shall be a 20 foot clear zone at the perimeter for viewing and shall be landscaped with shade trees. If this area is adjacent to a thoroughfare, the street trees may provide the necessary shade. The minimum size shall be 3 acres and the maximum shall be 5 acres.
Greenway
A natural preserve available for unstructured recreation. A greenway may be independent of surrounding building frontages. Its landscape shall consist of paths and trails, meadows, water bodies, woodland and open shelters, all naturalistically disposed. Greenways may be lineal, following the trajectories of natural resource corridors. Although wetlands may be part of the greenway, the wetlands shall not count toward greenway acreage. A maximum 20 ft wide linear path may be counted toward the civic space, unless other contiguous amenities such as fitness stations, shelters, disc golf, etc. are provided.
