Swords and spears will no longer be needed, verse 3. It will be. a time of prosperity, verses 4, 5. The nations will come and worship the Lord whose throne is in the. midst of His oeople. Amos 9:13-15: Ezekiel 34. With the Bible In your hand you can forecast the future With accuracy. Much as we wpuld rejoice in seeing all nations at peace' we must hot be deceived by false hopes held out to us by even the' best of men. The Apostle Paul solemnly warns us that when they shall say "Peace and safety" then sudden destruction corheth upon them. I Thess. 5:3. Nation must rise against na- tion and kingdom against kingdom. These; verses close the 'remarkable mes- sage which the Lord delivered upon the sub- ject of the 'loaves, and fishes. There • are two simple lessons which we can take from the paragraph. 1. The Test of Faith. The Jews were astonished at tjie words of,the Master when He said, "If any.'man eat of this bread he shall live forever," and said, "How can this man give us His flesh to '.eat?", verse 51-52. His disciples also, said, ' "This is a hard saying whp can bear it," verse 60, and many went back and walked no .more with him, verse 66. The natural, man receiyeth not the things of God. Cor. 2:14. Paul had to record similar words. "All cney which are in Asia be turned away, from me," 2 Tim. 1-:15. Dcmas hath forsaken me, 2 Tim. 4:10. The Word of God is mighty in its convicting power, and tremendous in its separating influence.' The test of faith is to believe what God says without refer- ence to its consequences. . This poor sin-stricken world can know no peace un- til the Prince of Peace Himself comes and establishes His throne in righteousness. We must not be deceived by the glowing pros- pects painted by fips and pens of men. We must not be diverted from the work as- signed us. Evil men will wax worse and worse, 2 Tim. 3:13, there will be wars until the end of the age. There is no peace for the individual outside of faith in Christ. How could" there be peace so long as men are actuated and controlled by selfish sin- ful natures. We must faithfully pursue our God-given task of living the Gospel, and as we wait and work let. our hearts cry, "Even so come Lord Jesus. Come quickly."

Acts 27:25., Faith takes God at His word and believes in spite of all cir- cumstances. Let us not fa-lter although many turn their backs upon the Lord. Let us go on in faith, ,unwavering. . 2. The Testimony of Faith., Thé heart of our Lord was strangely moved as He turned tp the, twelve with the question "Will ve ¡ilso go away?" Peter rings true • In his answer "We believe and are sure that Thou art that Christ," verse 68. This splendid testimony gave joy to. the heaçt ,of the Mas- ter P e t e r s p o ke in the power of the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor 12:3. , We should all have a testimony that is .clean. cut and be able to say, I know." 2 Tim. 1:12. There are s ".me things of which we can be sure. We can be surç that the Word of God Is true 1 Tim. i:15; Matt. 5:18; 1 Pet. 1:23 can be sure of our salvation. John 5:24- John 1:12. We can be sure concerning the future. 1 John 3:2.
