Fort Worth Police Department Strategic Plan

NORTH COMMAND The North Command consists of North, West, and Central Patrol Divisions.

North Division The North Patrol Division encompasses one of the most historic and culturally diverse areas of Fort Worth. North Division experienced significant growth during the past 15 years, spanning from the historic Fort Worth Stockyards to the Texas Motor Speedway. Steeped in rich tradition and sprawling economic growth, North Division has many of Fort Worth’s newest neighborhoods and businesses. North Patrol Division officers enjoy strong bonds with the community, developed through collective efforts to combat crime and improve quality of life for our residents. North Division includes Patrol Operations and Community Operations, Neighborhood Police Officers (NPOs) and Patrol Criminal Investigations. North is the fastest growing Patrol Division in the City. This unprecedented growth in the Alliance Corridor, both in residential and commercial development created the need to add a sixth Patrol Division,

resulting in upcoming boundary adjustments for all Patrol Divisions to provide enhanced service to the area. The location of the new Sixth Division facility will be strategically located on North Riverside Drive just north of North Tarrant Parkway, and will serve the citizens for several decades. Designed and constructed to function as a state of the art police facility, the Sixth Division will be a model for future police facilities. The current North Division Headquarters located in the historic Stockyards at 2500 North Houston will continue to serve as the “Short North” Patrol Division, as it currently houses the Divisions Criminal Investigations Unit and administrative functions. A leased facility located at 4651 North Main Street is the home to Patrol Operations. Over the next 5 to 10 years, there is an investment of approximately $200 million dollars dedicated to the revitalization of the Historic Stockyards Area, therefore, a new police facility, will allow the North Patrol Division to consolidate into one modern, updated facility, and efficient base for future operation. The objective will be to identify funding within the FY18 bond program and to build a facility by FY20/21.
